EXCLUSIVE: Due to the impending SAG strike, Rhode Island-based production company Verdi Productions has halted pre-production on the studio’s next feature film, a Muhammad Ali Jr. biopic.
According to producer Chad A. Verdi (Bleed For This), the independent film was scheduled to begin principal photography on September 1st in Rhode Island with a cast, but has since been pushed back to late 2024.
The film will follow Ali Jr. as he struggles to live in the shadow of his legendary father and deal with bullying, abandonment, drug addiction and family problems. Ali Jr. has recently found more comfort with himself, his old relationship, his father, and his children.
